What We've Done
In partnership with Wagtown, the Linden Heights Neighborhood Association, and Dayton and Montgomery County Public Health, we converted a portion of Highland Park (at the corner of Steve Whalen Boulevard and Wyoming Street) to a dog park. We are also created the "Wagtown Trail", a one-mile path that connects Highland Park to Cleveland Park.
We accomplished a park improvement project through community involvement, coordination with Dayton Public Works, collaboration with The University of Dayton Civic Scholars, and funding through a $5,000 mini-grant with a 50% match from the Dayton Planning Department
Worked with Montgomery County Facilities Management on Walnut Hills Park improvements including replacing and repairing bleachers by the tennis courts, installing new lights for security, and painting the roof of the shelter and bathrooms.
